Drawing Art Gallery CHAOS

Sally Weare was born in Chicago, in 1942 She graduated from the University of Chicago (department of the English language and social sciences). She received her M.A. degree from the University of Iowa, in the class of professor Mauricio Lazanski. She lived in London in the mid 1960s. She finished her postgraduate studies at St. Martin School of Art.   She has been living in California since then. She got her doctor's degree from the Mills College in Oakland in 1977. She also studied film and photography in Oakland. She has been exhibiting her paintings, photos and conceptual sculptures and drawings. She began to teach experimental and interdisciplinary arts at the “San Francisco State University” and many other schools of art and universities.

She left behind, maybe temporarily, the painting, the color, the concept, the experiment and the interdisciplinary quest which marked her creative work in the late 70-es and 80-es. According to this artist, the drawing could now follow her process of thinking in the best way…drawings, radically reduced to black and white contrasts, with rare colorist effects, could now visually present basic and existential questions she has been facing with…aware of an abyss created at the place of vanished humanity.
