"With gloves in the Dark is a description of a physical circumstance, a production process, the work’s content and its metaphor. The title is the carrier of form and the catalyst for the work’s tonality and its visual and literary associations… subject matter and its materiality are grounded in the merger of a local and imagined geography and its synthesis with a real and imagined history… The great tripartite of nature, faith and death in their institutionalized configurations as park, as church, as munitions, is collected into one and the same place, a real place Sverre Wyller has found and chosen as the site of his painterly operations… He draws what is remembered in the dark and what out of the remembered and the drawn is erased, by the glove… The drawings correspond to the size of the head. They are portraits… portraits of moments…"
