Drawing Art Gallery CHAOS

On this occasion, in the Chaos Gallery which has for some ten years now been a special temple promoting drawing expressions, we present works of few students of painting at the BK Academy of Art in Belgrade. Chosen works of Dejan Bosiljcic, Sanja Milojevic, Mirjana Radovanovic, Olivera Micic and Jelena Stevin with their different drawing poetics developed as complementary echoes of their painting researches, also have two characteristics in common: they use a photographic model as a basis and draw portraits mostly. Some of them find their inspiration in their memories from a family album or shabby Polaroid camera from the seventies. Some, on the other hand, are inspired by contrasting photocopy of a fashion photograph integrated through a collage. Somewhere we also have a documentary picture present. The process of transposition of one medium into another one is especially interesting. For example, a photographed scene which serves as a starting point for a drawing which is again a sketch for a painting. Far from that this comes as a result of the lack of ideas. It is just typical for a studious character that uses ″filtering″ of scenes to establish a state of certainty and subconscious concentration where in a ″relaxed position″ an artist achieves full spiritual creativity. How does it exactly reflect on the psychological level in the creation through the observation?
