ANTE MARINOVIĆ was born in 1947 on the Island of Korcula (Croatia), in a fishing town called Vela Luka.
He attended the school of Applied Arts in Split (Croatia) and continued his studies receiving a degree in Fine Art at the Academy of Fine Arts in Belgrade (Serbia).
Subsequently, he received the “Maestro de la pietra” degree from the ASMAVE in Verona (Italy).
Ante has participated in 25 national and international Symposiums of Sculptors and has received much acclaim for his monumental sculptures in the United States, Luxembourg, Italy, Mexico, Japan, Canada, Switzerland, Serbia, Thailand, Slovenia and Croatia.
He received 20 awards (national and international) for his sculptures and drawings.
His work has been widely exhibited around the world. It has been collected by many museums internationally and is owned by many prestigious collections such as the Vatican in Rome, the city of Los Angeles, Museum of Modern Arts in Shimonoseki, Japan and Microsoft Corporation in Seattle, USA.
He made around 40 public sculptures, and among his many large-scale public art pieces there are a recently completed monumental installation of stone and aluminum sculptures at the entrance to the new Denver Broncos football stadium, Coors Field, in Denver, Colorado and new trolley station in Downtown, San Diego, at Park Boulevard and Market Street.
Ante is a member of the Board of Directors of International Association of Monumental Sculptors (AIESM). He exhibited his works at 29 solo exhibitions and more then 200 group exhibitions.
